Georgia College and State University Vs. University of West Georgia

Georgia College and State University Vs. University of West Georgia?
I am trying to decide which university to go to; I know that Georgia College and State University is a much better school than West Georgia, however, I live like 10 minutes away from West Georgia (and I am so ready to leave, I've been here my whole life) and if I choose Georgia College then I will have to take a semester off to save up for dorms; is it worth it?
