Does North Georgia College and State University accept transfers from Lanier Tech

Does North Georgia College and State University accept transfers from Lanier Tech?
I am planning on attending Lanier Tech and then transferring to NGCSU, and I checked to see the course equivalencies. Lanier Tech wasn't even an option. Do they accept credits from Lanier Tech, and if so, where can I find an equivalency list?

Answer 1 :
Most technical schools credits are so specific to their programs that they don't transfer to many colleges. I know that ITT Tech here in Ohio's credits don't transfer to colleges. If you are still unsure about what to do you can call the admission office at NGCSU and talk to them about your inquiries. (706) 864-1800 <<This is the phone number of the admission office Blessings

How do I become able to pay in state tuition for a college in Georgia

How do I become able to pay in state tuition for a college in Georgia?
We moved here a year ago, and my sister's college says that they need to show they've not only been living here for a year but have worked for a year, too. Which we haven't. Is there any other way around this? There's no way this can be true, because we are residents.

Answer 1 :
Establishing residency for college tuition is a bit tricky, as they know many people will try to move in-state a little before applying so they can get a discount. Universities/colleges are businesses, after all, and they need to make money. A lot of what they make comes from out-of-state tuition. In-state tuition breaks are based on the idea that residents have been paying taxes which help the institution run. If you haven't been working and paying into the system for at least a year, then you haven't done your part to pay into that system. If you can't give them the necessary proof, then you'll just have to be considered out-of-state -- though it is possible to change your status, I believe, once your family can prove they have been working in the state for a year. You'll have to find that information out for sure by contacting the admissions/financial aid department.

What's the best college to go to in Georgia

What's the best college to go to in Georgia?

Answer 1 :
Georgia Tech UGA Emory Oxford Georgia State Top 5, no particular order
Answer 2 :
This will definitely depend on what you intend to study as well as other factors - cost, school size, etc. PayScale.com has a list of Southern colleges ranked by salary potential and Georgia Tech is 4th on the list: http://www.payscale.com/best-colleges/southern-colleges.asp You'll see that the list shows median starting and mid-career salaries for undergraduates from each college/university. You can also view college degrees/majors ranked by salary potential: http://www.payscale.com/best-colleges/degrees.asp Hope that helps
Answer 3 :
It definitely depends on what you're studying, but all around, I'd say the University of Georgia is the best in the state. It's very respected and recognized and offers many courses of study, making it a well-rounded school. The area is great as well. Athens, GA is a wonderful city. Anyone would love it! Good luck!

What's the name of the free college in Georgia

What's the name of the free college in Georgia?
My dad told me that a friend of his at work told him that there is a college in Georgia and the education and dorm rooms are free ($0), but they want you to pay by working a certain amount of hours at the college. What is the name of it and is it a good college?

There are a few places like that in the US, but not to my knowledge in Georgia - At least not any accredited schools. Look at Deep Springs, for example - that's in California. Your best bet is a hitch in the Army - the post 9/11 GI Bill for Education is fantastic - In essence you would get a free ride to any school that you can admitted to in the US, even the most expensive private schools, plus living expenses, plus a books allowance, plus some spending money.
